The Michihamono HSS Leathercraft Knife Set combines three of our signature leatherworking knives — BOSSHAN for cutting and versatile leatherwork, BULLNOSE for smooth, controlled skiving, and EDGE SKIVING for precise skiving along leather edges.

Together, these three knives cover the essential processes of cutting, thinning and edge skiving. All three blades are made from High-Speed Steel (HSS) for excellent sharpness and long-lasting edge retention.

Why HSS?

Leatherworking requires a consistently sharp cutting edge. Repeated cutting and skiving can quickly reduce the performance of ordinary blades, especially when working with tough leather or frequently contacting a cutting mat.

That is why Michihamono uses High-Speed Steel (HSS). It provides excellent wear resistance and edge retention, allowing the blade to maintain its sharp cutting performance for longer. Sharp longer. Work smoother.

BOSSHAN Knife — the versatile cutter for both hands

The name BOSSHAN comes from “BOTH-HANDED.” Thanks to its symmetrical blade design, the BOSSHAN Knife can be used comfortably by both right- and left-handed users. There is no need to choose a different knife according to your dominant hand.

The slightly angled blade shape also gives you a clear view of the cutting point, helping you make controlled and accurate cuts. Designed primarily for leather cutting, BOSSHAN is also useful for trimming and light skiving. Ideal for:

BULLNOSE Knife — smooth, controlled skiving

The BULLNOSE Knife was developed specifically for leather skiving. Its distinctive rounded cutting edge allows the blade to move smoothly through the leather while gradually reducing thickness. The rounded profile makes it particularly useful when thinning a wider area or creating a smooth transition in leather thickness.

Like BOSSHAN, the symmetrical blade design makes it suitable for both right- and left-handed users. Ideal for:

It is especially useful for preparing folded edges, seams and other areas where excessive leather thickness can affect the finished appearance. Ideal for:
